 GSOC Explore Camp

Girl Scout camp is a special place where every girl can practice independence, make friends, learn new skills, problem solve, and have fun in an all-girl environment!

We offer a variety of life-changing camp experiences for ALL girls entering K–12th grades.

Attend as an individual: She doesn't need to attend camp with her troop. Many girls visit camp on their own and make new friends.

Grab a buddy, be a pair: Girls can bring a buddy from their troop or a friend who is not yet a Girl Scout. Buddies are placed together according to program session, age, and Girl Scout level.

Not yet registered as a Girl Scout? Not a problem! Sign up today and join us at camp to see what Girl Scouting is all about.

Camp provides the perfect setting for girls to try new things and develop skills in a safe and supportive environment. View the Outdoor Progression Chart and visit GSUSA's Badge Explorer to see how girls benefit from camp experiences.

Camp Possibilities Fund

Camp Scherman is where courage and confidence come to life. Gifts at any level help make transformational outdoor experiences possible for girls across Orange County.

Whether it’s helping cover transportation, supporting program supplies, or sustaining the spaces where girls thrive, your generosity fuels life-changing experiences.

Due to California legislation, all volunteers attending weekends camps must complete the online child abuse identification and reporting training and a fingerprint-based background check. Please email customercare@girlscoutsoc.org if you have not already completed this process

California Assembly Bill No. 506 requires 1) any administrator, employee, or regular volunteer (those who volunteer more than 16 hours in a month or 32 hours in a year) of a California youth service organization to complete training in identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect, and 2) require California youth-serving organizations to include fingerprinting as part of its background screening.

If you are coming to weekend camp as a parent/guardian and girl pair and are not supervising girls who are not related to you, you may not meet the requirement for fingerprinting and Mandated Reporter training.

About Camp Scherman: Located in the San Jacinto Mountains, Camp Scherman has been a special place for Orange County’s Girl Scouts for over 50 years.

Under the soaring Jeffrey Pines (that smell like butterscotch!), girls take on new challenges, learn to collaborate with others, become self-reliant, and develop leadership skills. Whether she’s hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, playing games in the pool with friends, kayaking across the lake, or participating in camp’s many timeless traditions, there are endless possibilities for her to connect with nature and discover the greatness within herself.

**Program Note: Campers that are enrolled to participate in the horse program will be the only campers that will ride horses. All campers will have an opportunity to have some sort of horse programming that does not include riding during their session at camp.
