All Campers and Staff Are Safe and Sound
As another beautiful day at Camp Scherman winds down, we want to reassure families that all is calm and well at camp. Campers are safe, happy, and settling in for the night after a full day of fun and adventure. We continue to monitor local conditions and remain in close contact with fire officials. There are no threats to camp at this time, and everything is calm and peaceful here in the mountains.
Thank you again for your trust and support. We’ll be back with more updates tomorrow, but for now, rest easy—your campers are in great hands.

🔥 Fobes Fire Fully Extinguished
We’re happy to report that the Fobes Fire, which was burning near Camp Scherman, has been fully extinguished. Air quality at camp is good, and all campers and staff remain safe. Camp activities have resumed as planned, and the girls are enjoying their day—laughing, learning, and making lasting memories together.
We are aware of the Dale Fire in Anza and are closely monitoring the situation. At this time, the fire is at a fair distance and poses no threat to Camp Scherman. In the unlikely event that an evacuation becomes necessary, we are fully prepared and will follow our established safety procedures. As an added precaution, campers have been provided masks in case air quality conditions change.

🔥 Nearby Vegetation Fire – Campers Safe and Happy
We want to keep you informed about the vegetation fire that was previously burning near Camp Scherman. Please know that all campers and staff have remained safe, well cared for, and in great spirits throughout. The fire, known as the Fobes Fire, was actively managed by fire crews and aircraft, and forward progress has now been fully stopped.
Crews proactively moved heavy equipment through parts of camp to create a fire break. While no evacuation has been ordered, buses are on standby as a precaution, and safety protocols remain in place.
Girls have spent the morning enjoying popsicles and movies in the dining hall and are now back to regular programming.
The safety and well-being of our campers are — and always will be — our highest priority.
