Girl Scouts of Orange County Camps are open to all Girl Scouts.
Update for the 2026-27 Girl Scout Membership Year:
Following an extensive review of participation, operating costs, program options, and the long-term financial sustainability of the current model, Girl Scouts of Orange County has made the difficult decision that we will not operate weekend camp, summer resident camp, or third-party camp programs at our Camp Scherman Mountain Center property in MY27.
We know that Camp Scherman holds a deeply personal place in the lives of generations of Girl Scouts. For many, this space is connected to meaningful friendships, traditions, professional experiences, and lifelong memories. We do not take that history, or the emotions this decision may bring, lightly.
After exhaustive evaluation, we could not identify a feasible, financially responsible way to deliver programming at our Mountain Center property in MY27. This is a change in how and where we will provide camp experiences; it is not a change in our belief that outdoor experiences are an essential part of Girl Scouting. Instead, we are exploring how to bring the experiences, traditions, and spirit of Camp Scherman closer to serve more Girl Scouts through outdoor programs offered in Orange County and at other locations.

Camperships Assistance Fund
Financial aid "camperships" are awarded to GSOC youth campers with a current Girl Scout membership on the basis of financial need only and are available for all GSOC outdoor programs and GSOC day camps. Camperships must be submitted no less than 6 weeks before the start day of the camp.
