The Girl Scout Movement is more than a local troop or even a national organization. It is a global sisterhood connecting millions of girls and young women across more than 150 countries.

Join us for a special edition of Year of Service as we celebrate International Day of the Girl and explore what it means to be part of a worldwide movement of changemakers. Learn about the challenges and opportunities girls face around the globe, discover the power of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), and hear directly from Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from other countries as they share their cultures, traditions, and experiences.

This unique session is presented by GSOC's Global Summit delegates, a group of girls selected to attend the Girl Scout National Convention and participate in global leadership workshops alongside more than 100 Girl Scouts and Girl Guides from around the world. They will share what they learned about global citizenship, leadership, and the importance of building connections across cultures.

About Year of Service:

Year of Service is a monthly virtual program that inspires girls to make a difference in their communities and beyond through service, leadership, and action. This month's program offers a special global perspective, inviting girls to look beyond their own communities and connect with sisters around the world.

Year of Service is GSOC's own Bi-Monthly Patch Program where Girl Scouts learn to give back, take action, and make the world a better place!

GSOC Year of Service program has 3objectives:

  • Girls learnaboutan issue in our community by hearing from an agency expert who is working to correct the issue.

  • Girls meet an older Girl Scout who has developed a highest award project on the issue and are encouraged toTake Actionwith their own project.

  • Girls complete a hands-on project or collection to help the agency further their mission to address the issue.

Come celebrate our differences, discover our shared values, and experience the power of belonging to a worldwide movement of girls changing the world.
