GSOC Media Girls

The GSOC Media Girls are an outstanding team of creative, confident girls who represent GSOC in interviews, at events, and across digital campaigns. These girls share their stories—through writing, photography, panels, or media appearances—to amplify the good work happening in our council and spread the word about Girl Scouting!

Media Girls Opportunities:

Represent GSOC at events and in interviews
Join fun photo and video shoots to promote council
Train on Girl Scout Brand and create content
Share personal stories with community members and donors
Learn valuable communication and professional skills

Apply to become a GSOC Media Girl!

First Round Applications for the 2026 Media Girls are open until December 1st. Those selected will be notified by December 5th. The position is open to ALL MEMBERS – no matter your Girl Scout Level! There will be an initial Orientation and Training on December 16th at GSOC Headquarters that all selected will be expected to attend. Additional training opportunities will be provided throughout the year.

Media Girl Requirements and Expectations toggle arrow

Must have an active Girl Scout Membership (Participation in product program is preferred)
Must have permission from a parent/guardian to participate and a signed media release. Parent/guardian must be willing to support at events/trainings that require a chaperone
Must attend the mandatory Media Girl Orientation and Training on December 16, 2025
Must be open to assisting in content creation for social media for GSOC in some capacity
Must be open to accepting some public relations opportunities such as media interviews and articles
Must be a positive representation of Girl Scouts and the Girl Scout Brand

We are so grateful to all the Media Girls parents/guardians who provide girls with support and transportation to events and media opportunities. Your collaboration is essential in ensuring a successful program. As we work closely with families, we ask that parents and guardians be mindful of their commitment to the program when their Girl Scout applies.

Must accompany their Media Girl to the mandatory training on Dec. 16, 2025.
Ensure that their Media Girl(s) is accompanied to opportunities and events by at least one adult when needed.
Parents and guardians are expected to conduct themselves professionally while attending any media opportunities or tours with their Media Girl.
