Although this month's topic is still being determined and confirmed, you can be sure it will be a valuable and impactful experience for your Girl Scout. Register today to secure a spot, and we will be in touch once our speakers and project details are finalized. Don't miss out - reserve your place now and get ready to make a difference in a Year of Service!
The Girl Scouts of Orange County's Year of Service is a dynamic, ongoing community service initiative that empowers Girl Scouts to take action on meaningful projects while developing leadership, teamwork, and advocacy skills. Each month, participants explore pressing issues through interactive learning experiences, expert guest speakers, and hands-on service projects that make a tangible impact in their communities. Past projects have included supporting families in need through the Ronald McDonald House, advocating for wildlife conservation with Wolf Haven International, providing warm clothing for those experiencing hardship through One Warm Coat, and delivering meals to seniors with Meals on Wheels. Scouts have also worked to raise awareness of food allergies with F.A.R.E. (Food Allergy Research & Education), created handmade blankets for children in crisis with Binky Patrol, promoted literacy by stocking and maintaining Little Free Libraries in their communities, and more! Through these diverse service opportunities, Girl Scouts gain valuable skills in communication, problem-solving, and civic engagement while fostering a lifelong commitment to making a difference. By participating in the Year of Service, Girl Scouts build confidence, expand their understanding of global and local challenges, and take meaningful steps toward becoming compassionate changemakers in the world.
