LAGUNA BEACH, CA, March 9, 2026 — Girl Scouts and community supporters gathered on March 9 to celebrate the completion of a large improvement project at the Laguna Beach Program Center, which has been serving Girl Scouts since 1937. The recent improvement project included a new garage door, flooring, kitchen countertop, island, sinks and plumbing, exterior lights, air conditioning units, interior and exterior paint, and improvements to make the grounds more accessible.
Originally the Council Headquarters for Laguna Beach Girl Scouts, the house on High Drive is still a regular meeting spot for Girl Scouts in Laguna Beach and surrounding towns. Girl Scouts throughout the U.S. can also reserve it for special events or as a one-of-a-kind home base during visits to Orange County.
The ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony recognized the supporters who made the improvements possible, including Elizabeth and Matthew Miller of the Casey Family Foundation, City of Laguna Beach, Laguna Beach Festival of Arts, Rotary Club of Laguna Beach, and the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce.
“When the community comes together to invest in girls, there is an extra special magic,” said Vikki Shepp, Ed.D, CEO of Girl Scouts of Orange County. “When girls have spaces where they feel safe, welcomed, supported, and inspired, we know there are no limits to what they can achieve.”
Laguna Beach Mayor Mark Orgill, Councilmember Bob Whalen, Rotary Club of Laguna Beach President Sharon Plumley, and Pageant of the Masters Director Dianne Challis Davy spoke about why they support Girl Scouts. Girl Scout Susie Miller spoke about her Bronze Award project of making the kitchen more functional and organized. Winners of a Girl Scout art contest had their designs replicated and enlarged onto wooden plaques in the iconic shape of Girl Scout badges. The pieces, made possible through the generosity and talent of Pageant of the Masters Director Dianne Challis Davy, will be displayed on the grounds of the program center.
The Laguna Beach location is one of seven program centers operated by Girl Scouts of Orange County, in addition to its Irvine headquarters, a retail shop, and a 700-acre residential camp in the San Jacinto Mountains.

About Girl Scouts of Orange County (GSOC)
We are the Girl Scouts of Orange County. We are 25,000 strong—15,000 girls and 10,000 adults who believe that every girl can change the world. Girl Scouts began over 100 years ago with one woman, Juliette Gordon “Daisy” Low, who believed in the power of every girl. Today, we continue her vision of building girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place, by helping them discover their inner strength, passions, and talents. With Girl Scouts representing every zip code in Orange County, there are opportunities for every girl to do something amazing. We are Girl Scouts.
