Girl Scouts of Orange County Starts Construction on New Leadership Center in Newport Beach

Orange County's 21,000 Girl Scouts are a step closer to a new waterfront activity center on the Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. Construction began this week on the Girl Scout Leadership Center, a 6,100-square-foot facility next to Marina Park.

GIRL SCOUTS RECOGNIZES SIX EXTRAORDINARY OC LEADERS, NETS OVER $243,000 TO BRING VITAL PROGRAMS TO LOCAL GIRLS

More than 300 community and business leaders came together to recognize six extraordinary local female leaders, all Girl Scout Alumnae, and raise over $243,000 for Girl Scouts of Orange County at its Sixth Annual Celebrate Leadership event on October 30 at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach. Each honoree was matched with a current Orange County Girl Scout, pairing the female leaders of tomorrow with current leaders. The Girl Scouts each created and presented a unique art canvas to her honoree, illustrating the woman’s leadership characteristics. The Girl Scouts, ranging in age from six to 16, also shared how these leaders inspire them to achieve greatness.
