This training is a great way for adult volunteers and registered Girl Scouts to build outdoor skills together. Troops planning to cook outdoors or go tent camping should have at least one adult volunteer attend. Please note, the session may be canceled if fewer than 10 participants register.

What You Will Learn:
Outdoor Cooking Training:
Preparing outdoor meals using various cooking methods: charcoal fires, Dutch ovens, propane stoves, buddy burners, and box ovens.
Supervising girls in the use of charcoal and wood-burning fires.
Cooking in parks and program centers for day trips and picnics.
Troop Tent Camping Training:
Differentiate between public and private campsites.
Attend troop camps atCamp Schermanand service unit campouts.
Girl Scouts Attending the Training May Learn:
How to properly roll a sleeping bag, and map reading.
Songs, games, and outdoor cooking.
Cost:
This training is ideal for volunteers who enjoy outdoor activities and want to ensure a safe and fun experience for their Girl Scouts.
**This is not a drop-off event. Girl Scouts must attend with a registered adult troop leader or another designated responsible adult. Adult attendance is required to maintain proper ratios. See registration for pricing. No tagalongs, please.
