Service Unit Membership Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data Integrity: Use Looker database to review Service Unit reports and send any discrepancies to Customer Care department; report combined or disbanded troops to the Troop Support Specialist; report changes to contact information for any member to Customer Care.
Report Generation: Supply Service Unit Team Members with list of contacts specifically necessary for their team roles, after confirming that team member has chosen role in system and has signed their Volunteer Agreement.
Data Compilation: Supplies Membership Lead with data including troops not registered, current membership figures, troop composition, and girl and adult memberships as needed.
Renewal Support: Proactively identifies non-renewed members, encourage them to renew, and assist with registration.
Provides information and support to Service Unit team members in order to assist the team in setting and achieving Service Unit goals and recruitment goals.
Helps leaders access forms and reference materials as needed; (i.e. MyGS).

Manages Service Unit bank account and serve as a bank signatory on Service Unit bank account, and existing Community account.
In coordination with Operations Lead, reviews and approves expenditures including large event budgets.
Issues checks and maintain accurate records of all transactions, including receipts, bank statements and supporting documentation.
Works with Operations Lead to establish an annual Service Unit budget; provide regular reports to Service Unit Team apprised of budget status and account balance.

Supports Troop Leaders with submitting Troop Financial Reports (May/June)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborates with Program Team to foster a culture of honor by ensuring volunteers are consistently recognized and appreciated formally and informally.
Reviews or establishes and update award record keeping for Service Unit on an annual basis.
Motivates Service Unit to submit nominations by promoting monthly and annual award programs and communicating awards criteria, nomination procedures, and deadlines.
Monthly Recognitions: Create referral system for new nominations and log names and accomplishments on a monthly basis.

PURPOSE: Maintain Service Unit Communications resources.
TERM: Appointed by GSOC Staff for a one-year term, eligible for reappointment.
TIME COMMITMENT: Approximately 4-7 hours/month in August-June.
ACCOUNTABLE TO: SU Operations Lead and GSOC Staff (Troop Support Specialist).
SUPPORTED BY: SU Operations Lead and Lead Team Members, and Troop Support Specialist.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages Service Unit communications platforms (Facebook, Band, Shutterfly, website and/or similar) ensuring privacy guidelines are met (personal information must be secure and not accessible to the public).
Maintains Service Unit calendar with current information to ensure Service Unit members have access to GSOC programming.
Posts GSOC/Regional/Service Unit news, Talking Points, meeting minutes and updates to communications platform, and other information as directed by Operations Lead.
Send/schedule email meeting reminders and invitations.
Manage social media accounts and ensures accounts depict the Service Unit and its members in the best possible light.
Serve as Service Unit Historian, documenting events by taking or collecting photos and sharing via secured platform.
May serve as note take for Service Unit Team Meetings and Service Unit Meetings.
Serves as part of the SU Operations Team, supporting and participating in Operations Team initiatives. Attends Service Unit and Team meetings.
Completes annual Girl Scout membership registration, background screening (as required), role selection in MyGS, and submission of Volunteer Agreement and Non-Disclosure Agreement.
Completes all position-related training within three months of appointment.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: To guide girls in planning and carrying out activities that will reflect their interests and develop their leadership skills within the framework and policies of GSUSA and GSOC.
TERM: Appointed by the Service Unit Coordinator- HR for a one year term, eligible for reappointment.
TIME COMMITMENT: 1-4 troop meetings per month, prep time, activities and events
SUPERVISION: Service Unit Coordinator – HR and GSOC staff SUPPORT: Troop Leaders receive support, guidance, and encouragement from the Service Unit Coordinators and team members, as well as GSOC staff members. There is access to relevant learning opportunities and materials to prepare and support your role.

New Leader Liaison

PURPOSE: Support New Leaders during their first two years in order to create lasting, well-trained volunteer base that ensures a strong future for Service Units.
TERM: Appointed by GSOC Staff for a one-year term, eligible for reappointment.
TIME COMMITMENT: Approximately 5-6 hours/month in August-June
ACCOUNTABLE TO: SU Membership Lead and GSOC Staff (Troop Support Specialist).
SUPPORTED BY: SU Membership Lead and Team Members, and GSOC Staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves as primary Service Unit contact to New Leaders during their first two years as a leader.
Engages and encourages New Leaders through consistent, 1:1 connection and mentoring via phone or text.
Mentors New Leaders on responsibilities, including required trainings, setting up a bank account, important deadlines, etc.
Hosts New Leaders by inviting them to Service Unit Meetings and hosting them when in attendance; handles introductions of New Leaders at Service Unit Meetings; helps New Leader build connections within the Service Unit.
Contacts New Leaders within two weeks being notified of New Leader (either by DMC or Troop Support Specialist.
In collaboration with Membership Lead, recommend Service Unit content that directly supports New Leaders, including occasional New Leader breakout meetings.
Serves as part of the SU Membership Team, supporting and participating in Membership Team initiatives.
Engage in enrichment opportunities such as Level Consultant Rallies (typically held in October and April) and Volunteer Conference
