Get ready to BLAST OFF into Rocketry with GSOC's STEM Patrol in our Rocket Launch! In this two-part event, Girl Scouts will be led by the UCI Society of Women Engineers & the UCI Rocket Project to build their rocket. That weekend, we take to the skies in a model rocket launch! This is an "out of this world" event the whole family can enjoy, and you won't want to miss!
Cost:
- $25 for GSOC Girl Scouts
- $30 for Out-of-Council Girl Scouts
All Girl Scout participants will receive a model rocket kit & Rocket Launch patch!
Thursday, January 15th: Build your Model Rocket with Engineers
Discover the dynamics of rocketry with engineers from UCI! This exciting build will happen on the UCI campus! Engineers will show girls how to build their rockets, talk about the rocket launch process, and discuss the science behind rocket flight.
Saturday, January 17th: Blast Off! Model Rocket Launch
Join us for a rocket launch at the Wild Rivers Parking Lot in Irvine! Girl Scouts and their families will cheer each other on during this exciting launch.
Please note: The rocket launch is wind and weather permitting and will not be rescheduled in the event of cancellation. This is not a drop-off event, and adults will need to stay with their Girl Scout at all times. Families are permitted to attend the Launch, but we ask that only one adult accompany the Girl Scout to UCI for the build.
*This event is open to troops, Juliettes, and those with an active membership awaiting placement in a troop!

This event accepts GSOC Cookie Dough, GSOC OC Bucks, and GSOC Juliette Dollars! Girl Scouts must complete online registration and pay deposit (if applicable) or in full. Then fill out the Reimbursement form prior to participating in the event.
GSOC Event Scholarship may be available upon request for GSOC Girl Scout. To request a GSOC Event Scholarship please complete the GSOC Council Event Scholarship Form.
