We have been invited to attend a week-long retreat at a Mystery Mansion, but when we arrive, we discover that our hostess has disappeared. Help us look for clues that have been left behind in the crafts, games, songs and food. Nothing scary, just adventure as we unravel the secrets.
Adult Volunteers: Adult volunteers are essential for the supervision and success of Day Camp. Full-time volunteers (attends all 5 days) will receive a $35 rebate on daughter's registration.
In order to meet the GSUSA required Girl Safety Ratios (minimum number of volunteers needed to supervise a specific number of girls), priority will be given to troops that provide at least two full-time volunteers for every six girls. The safety ratios are outlined in the Girl Scout Safety Activity Checkpoints and were designed to ensure the safety and health of girls. Girls/Troops registered without the required adult volunteers will not be placed in a unit until safety ratios are met. The Day Camp cannot guarantee placement for early and regular registrations unaccompanied by adults.
Accepting Girl Scout Youth Staff (Girls entering 7th-12th grade): Girls with Extra Maturity (or GEMS) lead the younger girls in activities, games and songs and assist the adult volunteers in each unit. There will be a GEM (youth staff) training a week or two before the start of day camp. In addition, GSOC is offering an Older Girl Scout Leadership Training to earn Program-Aid (PA) or Volunteer-in-Training (VIT) award. Complete a 2-day session April 1 and 2. The PA or VIT award is helpful, but not required.
One t-shirt is included with every registration for Girl Scout campers, youth staff, Pixies/Boys and 2-5 day adult volunteers. Single day volunteers will pay $15 t-shirt fee. There will be no extra t-shirts available for purchase.

Due to California legislation, all volunteers attending weekends camps must complete the online child abuse identification and reporting training and a fingerprint-based background check. Please email customercare@girlscoutsoc.org if you have not already completed this process
California Assembly Bill No. 506 requires 1) any administrator, employee, or regular volunteer (those who volunteer more than 16 hours in a month or 32 hours in a year) of a California youth service organization to complete training in identifying and reporting child abuse and neglect, and 2) require California youth-serving organizations to include fingerprinting as part of its background screening.
If you are coming to weekend camp as a parent/guardian and girl pair and are not supervising girls who are not related to you, you may not meet the requirement for fingerprinting and Mandated Reporter training.
