Cadette O Rama Red Hat - Oct 22-24

What is Cadette O Rama (COR)?
Cadette O Rama is a skills competition for Cadette (6th-8th grade) Girl Scouts. We are planning for this year’s event to include both virtual and in-person competitions throughout the weekend of October 22 - 24, 2021 at Camp Scherman. Bus transportation will be available to all Red Hats, leaving Orange County Friday afternoon.

 What do you need to do to become a Red Hat?
• Registered Senior/Ambassador (9th – 12th grade) Girl Scouts and registered/background screened adult Girl Scouts (A limited number of in-person adults are needed over the weekend)
• Turn in a Red Hat Application by Friday, October 1, 2021. If multiple members from one troop are applying, please complete an application for each girl
**Leaders/parents are not required to attend event.

What is Mental Health?

These days there is a lot of talk about the importance of mental health. But, what is it? In this training you will discover what is mental health, what are protective and risk factors and how you can help reduce the stigma around mental health.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand and define what protective and risk factors are

2. Understand the meaning of stigma

3. Learn the action plan to reduce stigma

 

Gold Award Training

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award that can be earned by a Girl Scout Senior or Ambassador in 9-12th grade.

Cadette Essentials

 This training is required for Cadetter Troop Leaders. You should have already completed New Leader Orientation training.

New Leader Orientation (AM)

Date: Tue Nov 09, 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM PDT

This training is required for new Troop Leaders.

Daisy Essentials Training (PM)

Date: Tue Nov 09, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM PDT

This training is required for Daisy Troop Leaders. You should have already completed New Leader Orientation training.

Planning Large Events Training

Date: Tue Nov 09, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM PDT

Planning Large Events Training is for any volunteer who is running an event for their Service Unit, a group of troops (over 4 troops) or Council-wide.

New Leader Orientation (PM)

Date: Tue Nov 09, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM PDT

This training is required for new Troop Leaders.

Junior Essentials Training

Date: Mon Nov 15, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM PDT

This training is required for Junior Troop Leaders. You should have already completed New Leader Orientation training.

Bronze Award Training

Date: Mon Nov 15, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM PDT

The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest award that can be earned by a Girl Scout Junior in the 4-5th grades. Guidelines for earning the Bronze Award are found in the Handbook section of The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for Juniors.

Silver Award Training

Date: Tue Nov 16, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM PDT

 

Adult Training recommended for Cadette Leaders wishing to mentor girls in earning the Girl Scout Silver Award.

Brownie Essentials Training

Date: Tue Nov 16, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM PDT

This training is required for Brownie Troop Leaders. You should have already completed New Leader Orientation training.

Outdoor Cooking Training

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Date: Sat Nov 20, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM PDT

Outdoor Cooking Training 

Learning about Outdoor Cooking is a great opportunity for adult volunteers who love getting outdoors! Training is required when planning to cook outdoors with girls, for at least one registered, adult volunteer per troop.  

First Aid Level 1

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED

Date: Mon Nov 22, 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM PDT

First Aid/CPR (Level 1) - 2 year Certification

First Aid/CPR for infant/child and adult (Level 1) is required for at least one (1) adult registered and background screened volunteer per troop.

Healthy Relationships

Date: Wed Dec 08, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM PDT

This training is designed for pre-teen and teenaged youth, teachers and other staff who work with students as an aid to increase their knowledge and awareness about healthy vs unhealthy relationships.

Travel Training

Date: Thu Dec 09, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM PDT

Adult Training required for Troop/Group Volunteers planning to travel outside of Orange County, California, but not International Travel or Girl Scout Destinations. Travel Training must be completed for your travel application to be approved.

First Aid Level 1

MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED
