This Adult Learning is IN PERSON at Irvine HQ.
Adult Learning required for Troop/Group Volunteers planning to
engage in activities outside of Orange County, California, but not
International Learning or Girl Scout Destinations. Adult Learning must
be completed for your activity application to be approved.
If this is your first time participating in adult learning with Girl
Scouts or you'd like to review what it takes to get a program across
the United States together, join us for an educational evening on the
ins and outs of Girl Scout adult learning. You will leave with a great
understanding of what it takes to put together a girl-led learning
experience that is a fun adventure for all!
Course Objectives:
- Use the readiness factors to help girls and adults prepare
for extended learning experiences, discuss different types of Girl
Scout adult learning opportunities, and apply progression to these
opportunities.
- Put together a learning plan and timeline in
keeping with the council's procedures; Build a team of adults to
support the girls in their learning experiences; and clarify the
adults' roles and responsibilities.
- Guide girls through
budgeting and money-earning to support a Girl Scout learning
experience.
- Anticipate common risks associated with learning
experiences and manage (reduce or eliminate) those risks; guide
girls in achieving physical fitness for the learning experience; and
guide girls in preparing for the learning experience.
