Outdoor Cooking - Adult Learning *This is an IN PERSON opportunity at the Anaheim Program Center. If we do not receive a minimum of 5 registrations, this is subject to cancellation.
Learning about Outdoor Cooking is a great opportunity for adult volunteers who love getting outdoors! Training is required when planning to cook outdoors with girls, for at least one registered, adult volunteer per troop.
You must complete the following online courses in the "622 Outdoor Training & Resources" learning path on gsLearn prior to attending the training:
GSUSA Girl Scouts in the Outdoors
622 Indoor Overnight Adventures
622 Outdoor Training Prerequisite
By the end ofthe Outdoor Cooking Adult Learning, you will be able to:
Plan outdoor meals with Girl-Led activities
Supervise girls using charcoal and wood-burning fires
Prepare outdoor meals using charcoal fires, Dutch Ovens, propane stoves, buddy burners, and box ovens
If this will be your first time accessing gsLearn, please follow the steps below:
To access our online learning platform, gsLearn, please login to
your MyGS account via the MyGS tab on the girlscoutsoc.org website, then click on the yellow
"My Account" button at the top, right of your screen. After
you login to your account, click on the gsLearn link in the left-hand
column of your screen.
Please note: It will take the
gsLearn system about 30 minutes to populate a newly created account
with the courses, but from that point on, you will have access to all
troop level courses.
Please sign out of gsLearn and out of your MyGS account.
After about 30 minutes or so, please log back in to gsLearn
through your MyGS account.
Important note: The gsLearn link is currently not working
on any mobile devices unless the following settings are
disabled: "Prevent Cross Site Tracking" and "Block All
Cookies." If you would prefer not to change your settings, please
use a laptop or desktop computer. The best browsers to use are
Chrome, Firefox or Edge. Safari is inconsistent at this time. GSUSA is
working as quickly as possible to fix this issue.
