Camp Scherman’s Award-Winning Legacy
Situated on 700 pristine acres in the San Jacinto Mountains, Camp Scherman is Girl Scout sleep-over camp that offers safe surroundings where girls of all backgrounds and abilities can safely test their limits and develop an “I can do this!” attitude. Troops, groups and families can choose from three- and four-day sessions. Parents will enjoy their visit to camp as a chance to disconnect from daily routines and electronics to connect with each other and create lifelong memories.

The camp has two lakes for boating and a pool used for swimming and other water activities. Camp Scherman is the perfect setting for timeless outdoor activities like canoeing, archery, swimming, hiking, singing camp songs around the campfire and gazing at a star-studded night sky.  Several options for accommodations ranging from comfortable cabins to a more rustic camp experience are available.

While enjoying the fun and friendships at camp, girls are also developing skills that put them out of their comfort zone and allow them to stretch and grow in meaningful ways. Girls learn to be more resourceful in solving problems, become more creative and develop a sense of independence and confidence...Read more.

Safety for the girls has always been a priority in the more than 40 years that the Girl Scouts of Orange County have owned and operated Camp Scherman. Girl Scouts are leaders in safety and adhere to stringent safety requirements provided in Girl Scout Safety Guidelines and Safety Activity Checkpoints. Camp Scherman is fully accredited by the American Camp Association (acacamps.org). In 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Parenting OC named Camp Scherman as the “Best Overnight Camp.”

Taking the Leadership Experience Outdoors
Camp is integral to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and offers far-reaching benefits that can change a girl's life. A camp experience empowers girls to:

  • Discover: Understand themselves and their value to the world
  • Connect: Care about, inspire and develop strong relationships
  • Take Action: Team up to make the world a better place

We offer a wide variety of affordable, themed weekend and summer camp programs to fit everyone's schedule and interests. Troops, groups and families can choose from three and four day weekends. View our 2013 Weekend Programs at a Glance.
