Letter From Alum Molly Jolly
Like you, I am a proud Girl Scout Alum whose spirit and character were profoundly shaped by my experiences as a Girl Scout. I learned about leadership, teamwork and decision making and developed a greater respect for myself and others, my community and my country.
I loved earning badges and took pride in the visible reminder of my accomplishments. Although my initial goal was to have a fully decorated sash, I know that I developed important life skills like goal setting as I earned badges.
Because of Girl Scouts, I learned I could do anything and be anything - but I had to be willing to do the work and to take risks. Although I might have been scared to speak in front of a group or climb that mountain, my troop and my leaders gave me the support I needed to try. I am forever indebted to my troop leaders, Mrs. Nevers and my mother, who kept me engaged and inspired through Girl Scouts.
Today, I am the Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration for Angels Baseball. I was able to combine my education in accounting and business with my passion for sports to achieve my dream job. The path to my current career path was not in a straight line – but Girl Scouts showed me that I could achieve any goal I set for myself. I am grateful to Girl Scouts for giving me leadership, planning and business skills and the courage to chart my career path.
If Girl Scouts made a difference in your life, like it did mine, please consider making a donation today. Your support means the world to a girl who needs the courage, confidence and character that Girl Scouts provides.
Yours in Scouting,
Molly Jolly, Senior Vice President of Finance and
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Proud Girl Scout Alum
