Our Staff

Our camp staff are professionally trained, energetic and caring adults, chosen for their strong character, understanding of girls, love for the outdoors and special skills. Most staff are former campers themselves, experienced and passionate about sharing the Camp Scherman legacy (and Camp Schermanisms) with new generations of girls.  Staff members receive extensive training in handling children’s issues and concerns, positive communications, camping and outdoor skills, and health, safety and emergency procedures.

They're ready to guide your daughters through a camp experience that will empower them to discover, connect and take action.  They will gain a better understanding of themselves and their value to the world. They will be inspired to develop strong friendships. They will feel empowered to team up to make the world a better place with a new found "I can do this!" attitude.

We are anxiously awaiting the start of the new summer sessions.  So much to look forward to...great staff, great campers, great adventures, GREAT MEMORIES for all!

Our staff members have extensive experience in managing camp programs, some pursuing careers in child development, psychology, teaching and recreation, and must pass background screening for a camp position. Camp Scherman has an excellent staff-to-camper ratio of one adult to five campers. Please feel free to contact us directly by emailing ejohnson@girlscoutsoc.org with any additional camp staff questions. We would love to hear from you.
