Wilderness and Remote First Aid

This is not an overnight event. The course takes place Saturday, 4/12/14 8:30AM - 5:30PM AND Sunday 4/13/14 8:30AM - 5:30PM. Attendance is required on both days to receive credit.

The Wilderness and Remote First Aid is the minimal level II class required by Girl Scouts, as dictated by Safety Activity Checkpoints, formerly Safety Wise. This is an  American Red Cross class offered through Girl Scouts. This is required when there is an event with more than 200 girls, the group goes backpacking, you hold your own resident camp, or EMS help is beyond 45 minutes away.

Topics include: Primary Assessment, Secondary Assessment, Anaphylaxis, transport, HAPE, HACE, tourniquets, chest wounds, splinting, etc.

This is a 16 hour course and passing the written exam is required for certification.

***Please note that this is a volunteer led class, and has a minimum attendance of 8 participants. If the minimum is not reached, your payment will not be processed, and the class will be cancelled.
