Scouting for Food

The Girl Scouts of Orange County and the Boy Scouts of America, Orange County work together each year to collect food for Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Second Harvest Food Bank distributes food to more than 400,000 needy people every month.

Scouting for Food drop off locations are located at LDS churches throughout Orange County. A list of these sites will be available soon.
 
Here are 3 ways to get involved!
 
1. Host a collection at your school or other community location leading up to Oct. 27
How: Download commitment form and follow instructions for School/Organization Participation.
Drop off food at one of the collection sites on Oct. 27.
 
2. Sign up to collect food in your neighborhood on Oct. 27
How: Download commitment form and follow instructions for Land Rush Participation. (Contact Boy Scout District Chair - See Form)
Drop off food at one of the collection sites on Oct. 27.
Hand this postcard to neighbors who say they will drop food off later.
 
3. Sign up to collect food at your local Stater Bros. or Smart & Final grocery store on Oct. 27
How: Fill out the Grocery Store Sign-Up Form with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd store choices and send to GSOC.

Scouting for Food patches are available to purchase for $1.00 each
in our Girl Scout shop as well as at some collection sites and store locations from Boy Scout volunteers.
