Ahmanson Theatre Sleeping Beauty
Such a special and unique adventure offered only to Girl Scouts--$55 for a workshop and a show, with a bonus opportunity to perform on the Ahmanson Stage!!!!! Plus $5 for every ticket sold will be donated to the Girl Scouts of Orange County!
Ticket package includes a 90 minute pre-show educational workshop (no prior dance experience necessary) taught by two Principal dancers from Matthew Bourne’s world renowned dance company New Adventures, a unique Girl Scout Patch, and a fun activity guide for the Girl Scouts attending this performance followed by the performance of a re-imagining of Sleeping Beauty as a gothic romance complete with faeries and vampires, enchanting and arresting scenery and costumes appropriate for audiences 8 and older.

- Girl Scouts who qualify may win a spot in Matthew Bourne’s six day intensive dance training Curtain Raiser Program, and DANCE ON THE AHMANSON STAGE OPENING THE PERFORMANCE!!! Girl Scouts Curtain Raisers will also participate in peer-to-peer training at the workshop.
- To qualify for Curtain Raisers, you must have a minimum of three years dance experience in a studio or school setting, and be 8 yrs. or older.
- Thirty Girl Scouts will be selected in a drawing on Saturday, November 9, 2013. Winner’s parents will be notified on Monday, November 11, 2013.
- If you meet qualifications for the Curtain Raisers Program, you must inform Group Services at the time you reserve your workshop/ticket package. Provide Girl Scout name, parent contact information and dance qualifications.

Girls who attend this workshop and performance will be exploring career options, expanding their view of the world, practicing interviewing skills and enriching their understanding of the performing arts. In addition, girls may be able to earn parts of their Performance Badge (Brownies: Dancer, Juniors: Musician, Cadettes: Public Speaker, Seniors: Troupe Performer) or work on a Leadership Journey (Brownies: A World of Girls--Hear a Story Award, Juniors: aMUSE--Reach Out! Award, Cadettes: MEdia--Monitor Award, Seniors: Mission Sisterhood--The Sisterhood Award, Ambassadors: Your Voice, Your World--The Girl Scout Advocate Award).
