12030 - Girl Scout Silver Award Workshop
Council Headquarters, Irvine
The Girl Scout Silver Award is the highest award that can be earned by a Girl Scout Cadette in 6-8th grade. Girl Guidelines for earning the Silver Award are found in the Handbook section of The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting for Cadettes which is available for purchase through the GSOC Shop.
This 3 hour workshop is REQUIRED for adults who will serve as the project advisor for girls working on the Girl Scout Silver Award. The workshop is designed for adults working with girls who have completed or are nearly completed with a journey (aMAZE, Breathe, or MEdia) and are ready to focus on the Silver Award Take Action project. Participants will understand what it means to Take Action and how to use the Guidelines for Girl Scout Cadettes and the Adult Volunteer Guide resources to support girls’ efforts to make the world a better place. Girls are welcome to attend.
New Guidelines for Girl Scouts’ Highest Awards
New guidelines for the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards were introduced in Fall 2009. The old Go For It! requirements have been replaced with the new guidelines, featuring the Girl Scout leadership journeys. As of October 1, all girls use the new guidelines.
