Girl Scouts of Orange County is proud to congratulate local volunteer Nancy Moses on receiving the OneOC Spirit of Volunteerism Award. Nancy will be recognized on Thursday April, 26, 2018 at the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards luncheon.
Nancy is a longtime Girl Scout volunteer who recently pulled herself out of retirement to continue her support of local girls. Even though her own children have long graduated from Girl Scouting, she continues to volunteer for vital roles. She currently holds the role of Service Unit Finance Coordinator for the South Irvine Service Unit, guiding new leaders through the process of obtaining their first bank accounts.
Prior to her current Service Unit position, Nancy and her Girl Scout troops ran the popular Irvine International Day event, where Girl Scouts learn about other countries and come together to teach each other about the world. Nancy helped make this wonderful event possible for 20 years, ending her chairmanship in 2016. When Nancy passed the baton to a new chair and troop, she made the transition as smooth as possible. Nancy also served the important role of Service Unit Cookie Manager for South Irvine during this year’s Girl Scout Cookie Program and is also a member of the Service Unit Core Committee, where she devotes many hours each quarter to helping plan and organize the Irvine Service Unit.
Congratulations Nancy from all of us at Girl Scouts of Orange County!
