Exciting Announcement from GSOC Board Chair Becky Bailey-Findley

Dear Girl Scouts of Orange County Members:

The hiring of the Girl Scouts of Orange County (GSOC) CEO is the most important and challenging responsibility of the board of directors, compared to all other board duties. When Nancy Nygren gave notice of her intent to retire as CEO of Girl Scouts of Orange County at the end of 2017, the board immediately began working, with great focus, on a process that the board of directors "owned" to find the best, most qualified and experienced candidate possible for the job. We believe we have achieved this purpose and aspiration.

Through a very comprehensive and competitive process, drawing from over 150 candidates nationwide, the board of directors has called Vikki Shepp to serve as the next CEO for Girl Scouts of Orange County effective January 1, 2018. Vikki earned this call and graciously accepted the position. She competed through a rigorous search process and stood above the others as the most qualified to lead the organization.

Vikki has been with Girl Scouts of Orange County for over 10 years, during which time she has held numerous leadership positions across the organization, most recently as Vice President of Mission Operations. What we see in Vikki is an experienced leader with a proven track record of success at GSOC. She lives and works with passion and focus and, as a lifelong learner, has taken lessons from the best and put them into action. We believe in Vikki's ability to hit the ground running and take GSOC to the next level with the support of all of you. She truly embodies the G.I.R.L. (Go-getter, Innovator, Risk-taker, Leader) essence and we look forward with great hope and confidence to a successful future for GSOC under her leadership.

On behalf of the board of directors, we sincerely and with solid unanimity pledge our support to Vikki Shepp as the next CEO of Girl Scouts of Orange County.

It is also with boundless gratitude that we lift up and honor Nancy Nygren for her transformational leadership over the past 12 years and for building this wonderful organization that Vikki will now lead.

Warm regards,

Becky Bailey-Findley
Chair, Girl Scouts of Orange County Board of Directors
